Men's Department

Welcome to the Assemblies of the First Born Men's Ministry (AFBMM) 

The AFB Men's Department purpose and mission is to encourage and develop the ministry of men within the Assemblies of the First Born and the Kingdom of God at large.

We have held five National Men's Conferences since 2010 at our Battersea Headquarters (twice), Luton, Kings Heath and Alfred Street Churches with the continuing theme of Men as Priests, Men as Husbands and Men as Fathers based on the scripture below:

‘For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgement, that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him' (Genesis 18 v 19).

Mission Statement

The Objectives of the AFB Men's Department is to advance the ministries of men in the Assemblies of the First Born Church locally, nationally and internationally.

In pursuit of these objectives, we aim to:

• Empower men to understand and walk in their God-given roles as priests of their families.
• Develop their spiritual gifts and ministries to empower the effective operation of the church.
• Engage in activities that advance the spiritual, social and physical well being and development of all.

Vision Statement for 2017

We see a year which primarily focuses on the leadership role of men in their family and church settings. To this end we plan to deliver:

(1) Our 2nd Men's Retreat to Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain from Friday, 10th November. - Monday, 13th November 2017:

(2) Our 7th National Men's Conference on Saturday, 4th November 2017:

The theme scripture for the conference is again Genesis 18 v 19, where God says about Abraham, ‘For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgement; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him'.

The three following areas shall be our focus:

Men as Leaders, Men as Husbands and Men as Fathers 

The sessions are targeted at all men, young men and boys who regularly attend AFB churches with additional invitations to family, friends and visitors from our church fellowship.
